RIDING PAST THE KHALIFA INTERNATIONAL FIFA WORLD CUP 2022 STADIUM
Are you coming to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup 2022? You will find this blog useful. If you’re not interested in the FWC2022, you may find this blog article interesting.
Most weekends I am out and about on my bike for a hard work out. You can see the stats at my Strava page https://www.stava.com/athletes/salman_tahir.
But that is not what I am blogging about this morning. This morning I wanted to share a few snaps of the first Aspire Park Metro Station to near completion. There are four of them – North, East, South and West, that when completed will serve the Aspire Park, and in particular, the Khalifa International Football Stadium which is one of the venues for the Fifa World Cup 2022 (you can see it in the background of some of the pictures below).
I always go past the North station on my ride out and am impressed with the amount of work that has been undertaken to complete the metro. I really have to congratulate everyone that has worked so hard on this project to complete it on time. The dedication that the workers have shown is truly amazing, and the respect that everyone shows and gives to the workers is well deserved!
What you can also see in the pictures is what is known as ‘The Torch’. It was used during the 2006 Asian Games as the… well, The Torch! It had a huge flame shooting out of the top at that time! Since then it has been converted to a 5* Hotel called.. ‘The Torch’! So if you are coming over for the FWC 2022, and money really is no object for you, then this hotel is as close as you will get to any of the venues!
